Trying to document progress:

Here are pics of my progress on the yellow-blue quilt so far this week:

Yesterday got all my blocks sewn.    Now for putting them together...

Progress today:   Only have 3 rows put together.  Will be queen size so I have a long way to go.

Dog of the Week:   Max

Max is our Shih Tzu Mix and has been a member of our family for about 7 years and we believe he is around 10 years old. While he is a sweet dog, he is also a fearful one and barks incessantly at strangers.  Then when you approach him just lies on his back showing submissiveness.     He is The Mighty Hunter.   Brought in a squirrel last week proudly dropping it at my feet.

On to quilty stuff:

Here are pictures of my Quilting Board BOM for Jan.    I didn't like the way the first one turned out.   I had to trim everything to get it to fit together and ended up with 11 7/8" rather than 12 1/2 and wasn't satisfied with the colors either.   So 2nd one is definitely better.   I like the added purple and my finished size was close enough to 12 1/2 for my satisfaction.

2nd -- dark green and yellow are same fabric in both.   I could not get the color to show correctly.

New project - started yesterday.    Blue and Yellow Quilt for my friend Linda.

Here is how it is shaping up...

Dog of the Week:   Daisy

Daisy is absolutely the sweetest little dog we have...    She was rescued from a kill shelter on her last day of life.   The caretaker just couldn't do it.  Risked his job to call someone in a local rescue group to come and get her.  She has fit right into our "pack", is probably the youngest dog we have, and loves to play with anybody she can get to cooperate.  We think she is mostly a Schnoodle  -- Schnauzer/Poodle mix.

Sigh!   Deep breath!   Thank goodness the holidays are finally over and life can settle back into normal mode.

I started this quilt before Christmas but just finished it yesterday.   I do like to make 2-sided quilts.  This one, however, was a happy accident.   Although I had planned all of the pieced blocks to be the top, they just would not play well together no matter how much I tried to force them.   So I put the plain black squares between the pieced ones making a nice 2-sided quilt.  This is the first time I tried to FMQ with a pattern.  Didn't do great, but not so awful for first try.

I have not totally decided on the next project to start; however, since I want to try to do The Quilting Board BOM for 2013,  I spent today cutting fabric and sewing it together completely wrong...  Oh well, they say patience is a virtue.  Tomorrow I will rip the seams and try again.  Maybe pictures of success tomorrow.
