Dog of the week -- 11-26-12

This is Casper.   He is one of the newest additions to our fur-family.   Very sweet boy with us human-folk, but seems to think he should boss the rest.

Second baby quilt top done!  Yay!  And yes, I know that one of my blocks is upside down...   Didn't notice til I put the quilt top on my design wall to take the picture.   Sigh!  Oh Well!   Call it creative license.  I  am not going to take it apart to fix it.

Dog of the Week

This is JayJay, one of our Bichon Frise dogs.   He is  around 9 yo and quite the dignified gentleman.
Will return to quilts for the next post...

I have never formally kept track of start/finish dates and progress.   I hope this will help me keep on track.  It will be interesting to be able to look back at the journey and hopefully progressing skills.

Finished the top for the first baby quilt -- "Under the Sea"    I  believe I am going to take off the last row.   It seems out of proportion to me and besides will make it more approximately the same size as the next baby quilt to do.

Now time to move on to baby quilt no. 2.    I complete tops and then do all the sandwiching/quilting for them.    My BEST piecing machine is my Janome 1600P but it is also my machine to use with my HandiQuilter frame.   Until I get another machine I am comfortable piecing with, I make several tops and then do the finishing.

Here is the panel for the top.   I need to add 12" to the top and to the bottom to make it approximate size of the baby quilt no. 1.    These are going to be delivered at the same time.  I have no idea what I am going to do.   Any suggestions will be appreciated.

I have this selection of fabrics on hand that match those of the panel (not sure they will appear so on this page though)  The dark color is almost the same as Tigger's coat.

This is my backing fabric.

Hi, I'm Dene and I am addicted to quilting...   I thought I would just buy one fabric.   But then another and yet another found its way to my closet.

I can quit any time I want.

It is so enticing to add just one more project.  Of course a new project means more fabric.  But I CAN quit any time I want.

Then I found UFO's and WIP's and PIG's taking over my quilting space.  File drawers are full of patterns and ideas.  My computer is collecting photos of wonderful quilts and new things to try.  I haunt garage/estate sales and thrift stores for useful quilting fabric.   Sure I can quit any time I want.

Isn't it great that I can enjoy this addiction without guilt!

Another of my pleasures in life are our dogs.   They make me smile every day.

I hope to use this blog as a journal of my quilting progress, write a bit about my furkids, and share an odd thought from time to time.
